PRAL: The Evolution of Alkaline water
PRAL: The Evolution of Alkaline water
Water is definitely essential for us. There is no living organism on our planet, and as far as we know in the universe, that lives without water. It is the most abundant nutrient in the human body, so important that it is considered a super liquid. However, there are waters with more and less quality, that is, not all water is really "super". Let's start by understanding why not all water is the same?Ā
The different types of water
Looking at a few glasses of water side by side, it is often impossible to distinguish one from the other. But, did you know that even though they look exactly alike they are completely different? And when I say different it is because they are different, from their taste to the chemical-molecular structure.Ā Ā
TAP WATER
It is the most practical and cheapest, however the pre-treatment to which it is submitted is not ideal for consumption. Although it makes it drinkable, this process adds chemicals to the water that are harmful to our health like chlorine and fluoride. Ideally, it should be treated once more before consuming to eliminate the pre-treatment traces.Ā
Ā
BOTTLED WATER
This type of water generally contains more beneficial elements than tap water, however it is more acidic than recommended, in addition to being stored in plastic bottles that release chemical elements, such as Bisphenol-A, which are potentially carcinogenic.Ā
FILTERED WATER
(in common filters): It is a good solution, after all, it helps to remove the pre-treatment elements and is not stored for long periods of time in plastic bottles. The problem with this modality is in three areas. First, you have to pay attention to the quality of the filtration that the device delivers. Secondly, the common filters do not add any beneficial element to the water (such as magnesium and antioxidants.) Lastly, above all they don't alkaline your water, which is of paramount importance for quality.
Ā
ALKALINE WATER IONIZIER WITH NEGATIVE PRALĀ
Simply put the perfect water. It is perfect for many reasons. Antioxidants, rich in minerals, light, pure, alkaline & ionized, more cost efficient in the long term.Ā Ā
Alkaline Water
Substances can be classified into three categories: acidic, neutral and alkaline. This categorization is done through a pH measurement. It is a scale that goes from number 0 to 14, with the value 7 being considered neutral, everything below this value is considered acidic, as well as everything above it is considered alkaline. Water, in general, has a neutral pH, that is, 7. A soda, for example, is more acidic, having an average pH of 2.5. It doesn't seem like a big difference, but the pH scale is logarithmic, which means that it increases in the form of multiplication.Ā
Alkaline substances are roughly the opposite of acidic substances. Its scale, too, is logarithmic, that is, each level above is ten times more alkaline than the previous one. Studies point out how theĀ ingestion of acidic foods is bad for health, facilitates the proliferation of diseases and seriously impairs various functions of the body. The consumption of acidic foods should be avoided as much as possible, always trying to consume foods that have a pH above 7, that is, alkaline.Ā
When we are born, we are primarily alkaline and, as we age, we become increasingly acidic. This transition is one of the main factors so that, with advanced age, we are more prone to diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, gastric problems and even cancer. For this reason, more and more doctors recommend and recommend alkaline diets.Ā
Our blood is slightly alkaline, between 7.35 and 7.45, and your body will do everything to keep it at that level. Every time your body is acidifying it looks for ways to alkalinize yourself. One of the main ways to achieve alkalinity is by means of magnesium and calcium, alkalizing minerals, and do you know where your body will find these items? That's right, in your bones. It removes these minerals for compensation and this facilitates problems such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and others.Ā
Diseases, in general, need an acidic medium to maintain and spread,Ā which is why an acidifying diet is so harmful. The consumption of alkaline water helps to rebalance this disorder, doing a kind of cleaning so that these evils cannot be installed in your body.Ā
Knowing the pH of water is mandatory for you to have perfect health, but how can we know what is the pH level of water we consume? Most people imagine that they need complex laboratory tests to know the pH level, but did you know that you can take the test in a few seconds right there in your home? For this you only need a pH reagent, a liquid that reacts to contact with water by changing the color, the closer to red the more acidic the water is and the closer to dark blue the more alkaline. Neutral pH water is displayed in green.Ā
Ā
NEGATIVE PRAL: The secret of perfect waterĀ
Yes! As we have already said, alkaline ionized water is considered the perfect water because it has numerous benefits that all others do not. It is special because it helps our body achieve high levels of health, well-being and quality of life, in addition to helping in the search for healthy longevity. This is so true that the places in the world where you live the longest and with the highest quality are the same where alkaline ionized water is found in nature, that is, it is directly related to the age numbers of these populations.Ā
But, what many do not know is that water cannot be just alkaline. Today we are going to focus on a special item, the biggest difference between a common water, a common alkaline water and the best water in the world: THE NEGATIVE PRAL. Our challenge is to try to explain this concept that is relatively new and that brings a lot of scientific solidity to this thesis, since all published studies on an alkalizing diet (with negative PRAL) elucidate and mention PRAL.Ā
It was possible, for example, to verify that anĀ alkalizing diet prevents and even treats diseases like Diabetes.Ā So it is not enough to drink water with alkaline PH, it is necessary to drink water with negative PRAL, that is, alkalinizing. Seems confused right? That way we need to understand what is alkalizing power or PRAL.
Ā
What is PRAL?Ā
Pral is an English acronym that in translation means Renal Potential of Acid Load, it is a mathematical calculation that, in short,Ā tells us whether food has an alkalizing power or not.Ā
In 1995, researchers Remer and Manz were able, in an unprecedented way until then, to calculate the acid or alkaline charge of a food, which means that for the first time in the world it was possible to define precisely whether that food had the power to acidify or alkalinize our body, that is, favor or make your body sick.Ā
Then comes the first question that many have: āIsn't that easy? Isn't it enough that I just measure the pH of the substance? ā The answer is NO to both questions. Lemon, for example, is extremely acidic (citric acid), but when it is absorbed by the body it has a phenomenal alkalinizing potential, that is, even though it is acidic it alkalizes us. The reverse can also occur.Ā
As we already said, chlorine is an alkaline substance, but we do not recommend that you drink a full glass with it (seriously, please don't do that). Chlorine-treated water is important to get to your tap, but it sucks to drink because it acidifies your body.Ā
How is PRAL measured?
PRAL is basically calculated through the presence of alkaline and acidic components in a given substance. For the diagnosis to be given about how food is influencing your body, the calculation is done through urine. Let's make it easier, if after the complete digestive process of your food, your urine has higher levels of phosphorus and sulfur it will have a positive PRAL, which indicates that your body is acidified, as it is trying to eliminate excess acid. On the other hand, if the measurement of your urine indicates the presence of minerals such as magnesium, calcium or potassium, PRAL is negative, which shows us that your body does not have many acid wastes to be eliminated.Ā
The result of this difference between the amount of acids and alkalis is PRAL, where a negative result is good and a positive result is bad.Ā
Ā
How important is PRAL for your health?
Well, it has long been known that the kidneys (which are responsible for āfilteringā the substances in our body) do not have an unlimited capacity to eliminate acids. So, the more acidic a diet is the more stressed the kidneys are and the more acidic the urine is.Ā
Several degenerative diseases manifest in an acidic environment, maintaining an alkaline diet and, consequently, assisting your body in the production ofĀ alkaline charges is the best way to prevent and / or combat these diseasesĀ ranging from a simple cold to more serious diseases such as alzheimer's.Ā
And PRAL in short is that, it helps you to make sure that what you are consuming, which seems alkaline, will actually be alkaline. It is as if PRAL were your security to ensure the good of your body and body.Ā
A simple way to understand how PRAL works is to imagine two glasses of alkaline water, one with negative PRAL and the other with positive PRAL. If we put a little vinegar (which is a powerful acid) in the two glasses, the water with positive PRAL will become acidic at the same time, while the water with negative PRAL will remain alkaline. That is, the vinegar acidifies the water with positive PRAL, but water with negative PRAL has the power to practically alkalize the vinegar that was placed in the glass.Ā
Below you will find a list of published scientific articles that show the importance of PRAL in the health of our body and food.Ā
The light bulb
Another way to exemplify PRAL for a complete understanding is to imagine our body as a dark room that needs to be lit. Illumination comes through a lamp, which in this case is like a glass of water.Ā
the alkaline pH is important because it says how much this lamp can brighten the environment, the higher the pH is as if the lamp had more light. However, there is no point in having the most powerful lamp if it doesn't stay on, is it? That's where PRAL comes in, it is responsible for keeping this lamp on, that is, keeping the entire environment alkaline.Ā
So, based on these examples, we can say that PRAL is responsible for altering the alkalinity of the medium, it guarantees that the alkaline water you are drinking will remain alkaline even when it reaches the stomach, which is a completely acidic environment.
Ā
Acid: The root of the problem
Diabetes, hypertension, hormonal problems, alzheimer's, cancer. Do you know what all these diseases have in common? Their cause may be in the hyperacidity of your body, which can even deregulate emotions, bringing up feelings like anger and impatience more latently, is what the Physical Educator at PUC-SP, prof. Jaime Paulino tells in his published article, which you can find at the end of this text.Ā
We have already seen that the pH of the blood does not change, but with an acidifying diet, that is, poor in alkaline foods and with a positive diet, our body starts to lose minerals to make the alkaline metabolism compensation, in the same way that there is a less presence of oxygen.Ā This scenario is ideal for the diseases mentioned above to settle, remember this information, diseases proliferate more easily in acidic environments, and it is in the transformation of this environment that the negative PRAL acts, making it more alkaline.Ā Ā
Beware of alkaline recipes
Having said all that, be careful with recipes for producing alkaline water at home or with filters that alkalize the water, but do not have the power to make PRAL negative. Alkaline water without a negative PRAL is basically the same as ordinary water.Ā
This is our differential, Acqualive is the first brand to bring studies and scientific support regarding PRAL and its benefits. We guarantee that all our filters have the ability to negate the water PRAL, making it perfect.
Ā
But, why have I never heard of PRAL?
This is a relatively new concept, but one that has come to completely change the way health professionals see human food. With each passing day, more scientific articles and research are carried out to better understand the negative PRAL and its beneficial health consequences.Ā
You may never have heard of it, but PRAL is the future of nutrition, so Acqualive is at the forefront, assisting researchers and encouraging testing to further understand the effects of an alkalinizing diet.Ā
All of our filters, without exception, make the pH of the water alkaline to the same extent as they leave the PRAL negative and this, as we have seen, is the perfect treatment for your water. Forget homemade methods, filters that do not guarantee negative PRAL. Do you want to give the best to your family? Do you want to make yourself and your loved one more resistant to disease and enjoy more health and vitality? Do you want to make sure that the water you have in your home is the best possible? So, have no doubts, choose an AcqualiveGroup ionizer filter, the pioneer in alkaline water and now in negative PRAL.Ā
Now you know, in addition to asking yourself if what you are eating / drinking is alkaline, ask: āAnd is PRAL negative?ā You will be surprised with some answers.Ā
Below you can see several studies on alkaline water and the alkalizing power.
